Kakheti tour for wine lovers

Everybody loves Kakheti, especially wine and food connoisseurs: In the southeast Georgian region, everything revolves around food and wine.

In authentic surroundings, you taste different natural Qvevri wines produced according to traditional methods. You enjoy Kakheti’s famous dishes in the best restaurants, where only food made from local and fresh ingredients is offered.

During a visit to Inavarde Wines, run by Swiss winemaker Fabio Bolognese, you learn everything about Kakhetian winemaking tradition and you taste his natural wines accompanied by a tasty lunch.

Itinerary

Day 1 :
Tbilisi (arrival)

After your landing at the Tbilisi International Airport, your guide will receive you and bring you to your accommodation.

Day 2 :
Tbilisi, Badiauri, Sighnaghi

After pick-up in front of your accommodation, we start our journey to Kakheti. The first stop is in the small village of Badiauri, where you taste fresh, home-made bread (Tonis Puri) and two different home-made cheese variations.

We continue our journey to Sighnaghi. The small town is called the city of love not only due to its romantic atmosphere but also because the town is extremely popular for couples willing to marry. In the city hall, people can get married around the clock for seven days and 24 hours. In Sighnaghi you have sightseeing and a wine tasting in one of the country’s best wineries for natural wines.

Day 3 :
Sighnaghi, Kvareli, Gremi, Eniseli, Telavi

Today we cross the Alazani Valley to explore the northern part of it. We visit two of the most impressive religious building in the region: the Nekresi Monastery and the Gremi Archangels’ Church. In the neighboring village of Eniseli, the Swiss winemaker Fabio is waiting for you. You will enjoy lunch and a few glasses of his organic wines.

From there it's just a 20 min ride to Telavi, the capital of Kakheti. On a guided walking tour, you explore the most beautiful corners of this historical place.

Day 4 :
Telavi, Gombori, Tbilisi

On the way back to Tbilisi you enjoy breathtaking views from Gombori mountain pass.
