Forests and defense towers
Svaneti, located in the northwest between Abkhazia and Russia, is one of the most impressive regions of Georgia. The Swan people settled in this remote corner of the Greater Caucasus more than 300 B.C., and in the following millennia they were to successfully defend themselves against any attack by all invaders. Even today, the numerous fortified towers that can be found in every village bear witness to this past.
We discover Svaneti not only in four-wheel drive but also on foot. We undertake impressive hikes such as to the Chalaadi Glacier or to the Koruldi Lakes, spend the night in friendly guesthouses run by locals and thus experience Svan hospitality, its culture and traditions. On this tour not only hotspots like Mestia and Ushguli are on the program, but also remote villages and lesser known places.
On this tour you will experience Svaneti very closely and authentically. We dive into the impressive nature of this mountain region and let the locals spoil us with their culinary delights.

The eclectic architecture and breathtaking natural beauty of the Caucasian region would have remained unknown to me if not for this awesome MyCaucasus travel portal.

We had a great group. I still have contact with all six. We have already agreed that we will come back next year. Then it will be a wine tour through Kakheti.

I will never forget our trip through the mountains of Tusheti. The landscape was unique, though the absolute highlights were the warm encounters with the locals.
