Facts about Mshvidobis Khidi
The bridge was built in Italy and then transported to Tbilisi with a total of 200 trucks. The bridge is particularly worth seeing at night, when the 1,208 LED lamps from French designer Philippe Martinaud installed in the roof of the bridge create a spectacular play of colours.
Opinions on the Bridge of Peace differ
The bridge is controversial among locals as well as tourists. Some like it, others don't; and still others find that the bridge has its charm, but doesn't fit into the cityscape, as it leads directly to the historical old town.
How to get there
The Bridge of Peace is located in the middle of Tbilisi's center. It's the connection between Old Town and Rike Park. It is the best to visit the bridge by foot.
You can take one of the many minibusses (marshrutkas) going to the city center. From all the stations in the city center it's a short walk by foot.
From Tbilisi International Airport you can take a taxi (max. 25 GEL) or a bus (50 Tetri) to the Old Town.
The Old Town itself is not connected to the Georgian railway system.
