By the end of November, Georgia already registered more than 8 million international arrivals. More specifically, Georgia hosted 8,105,829 international travelers in the first 11 months of the year, showing an increase of 10.6% year-on-year.
17.2% more tourists than last year
More than 55% of those arrivals were tourists (4,486,595), which is 17.2% more compared to the period of the previous year. As the snow began to fall quite early in 2018, this number may even increase thanks to winter tourism.
Significant increase in European tourists
The most arrivals have again been registered from the neighboring countries: 1.34 million came from Russia, 1.31 m from Azerbaijan, 1.16 m from Armenia and 1.03 m from Turkey. The increase of tourists from Europe is especially noticeable: Georgia registered +50% more arrivals from Germany, +58% more from the Netherlands and even +82% more from Estonia.
But the record holder is an Asian country: From South Corea, Georgia registered +117% more arrivals than in the previous year.
